Hi everyone,

My name is Elizabeth Monsef and I am the Vice President of Membership for the Epsilon Omega chapter of Sigma Kappa here at Cal Poly. If you can’t wait to go Greek, might still be thinking about it, or know someone who is considering it, you’ve come to the right place!

First off, I highly encourage anyone even considering going Greek to participate in recruitment. The process alone brings you in touch with so many women and it is a great chance to get to know some more people and make familiar faces on campus. Each chapter is filled with a diverse set of members, you will definitely connect with at least one girl if not many during recruitment!

Greek life is designed to help you find the women who bring out the best in you, who push you to be the best version of yourself and help you create memories to last a lifetime all while supporting you through all the other ups and downs during college and beyond. These are your sisters, and they will be by your side through it all. The women across each and every house are some of the most genuine, inspiring, empowering people I have met here in SLO. As a whole, they make up a community I am proud to be a part of.

If you are a parent/ supporter, we are so excited to welcome your young woman into our home and get to know her during recruitment. You have done an incredible job helping her become the unique woman she is and, like you, we want her to find the house that gives her the one-of-a-kind experience she deserves. Our chapter, and all other chapters of the Panhellenic community, will work hard to make sure her experience is a positive one.

Greek life at Cal Poly has given me so much and helped me find some of my best friends. It provides so many opportunities from philanthropy events, to leadership positions, and to a “family” that I now can’t imagine college without.

Keely and I cannot wait to get to know all of you and we hope that you choose to go Greek! We truly love our school and our home and we want the same for all of you.

Remember to stay true to who you are, and to smile and enjoy the ride!
