Letter from the Chapter
My name is Madison Gress and I am the Vice President of Membership for the Epsilon Omega chapter of Sigma Kappa. I am still in disbelief that this is my last time going through formal recruitment when it feels like I was still a nervous new Mustang, with absolutely no idea what to expect (or let’s be real, even how to pronounce all the different Greek letters).
First off, let me take a minute to say if you are on the fence about going through recruitment, please just do it. I’ve given this advice to all my younger friends over the past few years; even if you think Greek life isn’t for you, by just participating in the process you will meet so many girls and make new friends you might never would have otherwise. At the end of the day, there are so many amazing, unique women in the various chapters at Cal Poly that you are sure to find people you connect with, and find that house that really feels like a home (I know I did!)
Within Sigma Kappa, I not only found a home, but a family and support group. Sure, there’s lots of fun times, laughs, themed events and cute insta pics involved in a sorority, but at the end of the day when I think of my sisters, none of that matters. I think of the girls who have been there for me no matter what, the girls who have helped me through the tough times of college (trust me, there will be plently), and the girls who inspired me to work hard to be my best self.
Here in Sigma Kappa, I found bonds like no other, and some of the most real and genuine women I’d ever met. Megan and I can’t wait to get to know you and be a part of this crazy, incredible experience with you all.
See you all SO soon!
