Letter from the Chapter
Sorry this took forever!
My name is Morgan McKean and I am the Vice President of Membership for the Epsilon Omega chapter of Sigma Kappa. If you have stumbled upon this letter, I hope you find some words of encouragement, excitement, and a little bit of wisdom whether you are interested in Greek Life or are a supporter of someone who is.
For the women on the fence about going through Recruitment, please give it a shot! Even if you think Greek Life might not be for you, just by participating in the process, you will meet tons people and make new friends you might never have otherwise. There are so many inspiring, unique women in the various chapters here at Cal Poly that you are sure to find people you connect with. The experience is what you make of it, you’ll never know unless you try!
For the women who enjoy a sense of belonging, you’re in the right place. Through the most amazing and the more difficult times that lie ahead, your chapter has your back. There is no safer, more supportive, diverse, or lively organization on Cal Poly’s campus.
If you are a parent or supporter of a woman who wants to join a sorority, this is such an exciting time! The one-of-a-kind girl you know is about to find the one-of-a-kind “home” that is perfect for her. You can rest assured knowing that there are hundreds of people who want the best for her and will stop at nothing to make sure she is happy, just like you have and will always do.
Within Sigma Kappa, I have a strong foundation, a very large family, a place I feel one hundred percent myself, and somewhere I matter. My sisters and I work hard and enjoy life because we encourage and celebrate each other in doing so. College is a transformative time and I will always give credit to Sigma Kappa for helping create the person I am today and giving me friendships that I will have for the rest of my life.
Kailey and I look forward to getting to know you and have you be a part of this crazy, incredible experience.
I can’t wait to meet you!
